Bread80 has several projects at the moment, he is working recently on two interesting ones.
First project in two parts, the presentation of the Amstrad CPC Revision Zéro, yes the one base on a 6502 processor which was never finished. It was shown by Roland Perry at a spanish meeting, and Deepbf was able to take photos. So Bread80 did analyse in a first part the working of this prototype card which was clearly non functionnal. In the second part, he is starting to design a working 6502 Amstrad CPC (with a 2 Mhz model like the BBC computer).
Second project which is the following of the one started in 2020 by designing a new Gate Arry using a Rasperry Pi Pico 2040, but now that the new Pico model is out, he is starting using the Raspberry Pi Pico 2350 more powerful and which has more GPIO, in three technical parts (first part, second part, third part).
MERCS for Amstrad CPC is an action game by CAPCOM/U.S. Gold in 1991 (Amstrad CPC conversion by Chris SHAY).
On OursoN Retrogames's youtube channel, he is doing a speedrun in 17 minutes and 40 seconds on MERCS.
Arkos Tracker v3 by Targhan is available on his web site which holds several tutorials. The last version available is v3.2.1 (21th October 2024). It's a beta version but totally usuable as stated by the Targhan, for windows, mac and linux (intel and ARM).
Dizark isn't anymore embedded in Arkos Tracker and has now its own web site. Disark is a Z80 disassembler, but it is more than that as it can be used to convert sources from an assembler to another.
Below you will find the content of the announcement of Arkos Tracker 3 on CPCWiki :
Arkos Traker 3! It is a 100% redesigned, recoded version of Arkos Tracker. Don't worry though :
A few features :
Frog Alot for Amstrad CPC is a clone of the platform game Nebulus written by CNGSoft in 2015 for the CPCRetroDev contest.
On OursoN Retrogames's youtube channel, Kukulcan is showing a speedrun in 5 minutes on Frog Alot.
The issue 23 of RetroMagazine World by Francesco Fiorentini is released in english.
The V9990 Powergraph video card for MSX (cartridge) can be used on an Amstrad CPC with an AMSDAP card (MX4 ports and two MSX cartridge ports but only those using IO of the Z80, not those using memory functions, so you can use for example a V9990 and a sound cartridge).
Everybody knows the robot demo moving in a forest, well now thanks to HAL6128 you have something else to chew. You can download the DSK and see for yourself the result in this video by Poulette73 (see below).
HAL6128 bought a V9990 a moment ago but didn't use it, till recently to learn using it. He downloaded a non playable demo of a fighting game using the V9990 for MSX and adapted it for Amstrad CPC. It looks like a mode 1 screen but with 16 colors instead.
The last version of 8BP (v042-01), a programmation framework, is presented by his author on his web site. This version is available since the first September.
For your information, the documentation of 8BP is now available in five languages.
And if you want to program with 8BP under windows, then why not take a look at IDE8BP written by Toni Longo and released at the end of May 2024. You will find a présentation of IDE8BP's features on AUA.
The information is a bit old as it's from March 2024, but Lord Alan Michael did buy back the rights for the Amstrad brand and launched a marketing company under the name Amstrad Digital.
Amstrad.EU is going to be 25 years old soon, it seems it's the year to hit this threshold as this site got its anniversary in may. So Amstrad.EU just got a lifting at the start of October. The content of the old site is at its old address which you will find here. The content will be migrated from the old site to the new with time, so be patient.
Long life to Amstrad.EU and all other Amstrad computers related web sites, but lets not be sectarian towards those about other old computers as we didn't start all with an Amstrad CPC (I did start in fact with a ZX 81, not mine though).
